AppId is over the quota
Not so long ago I was asked by someone if I had any suggestions as to secrets for getting rich in a way that wouldn't require too much skill or effort. In this case I gave the typical answer in the vain of "there aren't any ways to get rich quick, anything worthwhile requires a lot of dedication and work" which was probably not what wanted to be heard.
But in hindsight there's probably not what you could call a secret - as just about every successful business has used it at some stage - but rather something that simply makes everything happen much easier. It doesn't have anything to do with luck, intelligence, listening to someone else's advice or words of wisdom printed on the back of a cereal box. For anything you do, pure and simple, you need to be able to give people what they want.
It's so surprising how quickly that fact is forgotten - despite fellow business owners constantly reminding us of it. We have a tendency to overcomplicate things. To give them fancy names or to focus on specific strategies. And by getting lost in those details you also lose track of your sole purpose. It's a sad fact but that's how most businesses fail - not anything to do with their ability to create quality products or sophisticated marketing campaigns, but to adapt to what the marketplace actually wants.
You may have heard of a company called Borders. I was in a store the other day where they were selling off the furniture in addition to practically giving away all the books on them. Not to mention the employees who were also facing the prospect of searching for another job. Though it's sad, it's one perfect example in recent times of what happens when you stop listening to what people want.
In an online environment we're so lucky to have tools at our disposal to keep track of those wants and needs - though it is still surprising that such a small percentage of people actually use them. What better example is there than keywords and search engine optimization, where people tell you exactly what they're looking for to the letter. But not everyone optimizes their webpages - myself included for this particular blog, as like many other people it's more of an outlet for me and not a serious business proposition.
Or what better way to describe effective affiliate marketing than a form of matchmaking, one which exists to make connections between a potential buyer and the product they're looking for. And let's not forget about social media - your best friend for gaining feedback when it comes time to creating your own product.
Whatever it is you do, I guarantee you will be successful if you help people find what they're looking for, simply give them what they want and generally make their lives easier in some way. By all means use the tools at your disposal - but don't get lost in them. Above all, remember to listen carefully - whether people give you their feedback directly or indirectly - and respond accordingly. It may sound so simple, but almost everyone forgets about it at some stage. Don't let your own business fail because of it - use this simple formula effectively and I guarantee you will get to any financial goal you have in mind.
